The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) will take over maritime fire fighting and rescue functions from the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) with effect from 1 April 2012.
The maritime fire fighting response service currently rendered in the Port of Singapore will continue to remain unchanged.
In the event of a maritime fire incident in the Port of Singapore, request for assistance can be made by contacting either MPA or SCDF by the following means. a. MPA Marine Safety Control Centre: 6325 2488 or 6325 2489 or VHF Channel 07. b. SCDF Fire and Emergency Ambulance Services: 995

DATE: March 01, 2012 – COUNTRY: Hong Kong – PORT: Hong Kong -Submarine outfall inspection off Aberdeen West Typhoon Shelter
From 1 March 2012 and for a period of approximately seven days, submarine outfall inspection works will be carried out off Aberdeen West Typhoon Shelter in the area bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum): (A) 22 deg. 14.758’N / 114 deg. 08.456’E (B) 22 deg. 14.803’N / 114 deg. 08.488’E (C) 22 deg. 14.785’N / 114 deg. 08.517’E (D) 22 deg. 14.740’N / 114 deg. 08.485’E
One work boat will carry out the works. One guard boat will provide assistance.
A working area of approximately 25 metres around the work boat will be established. The hours of works will be from 0800 to 1700 hours. The vessels employed for the works will not stay in the works area outside the hours of works.
Diving operations will be carried out from time to time during the hours of works.
Vessels engaged in the works will display signals as prescribed in international and local regulations.
Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution and keep clear at slow speed, bearing in mind there are divers working in the area.
