Vessels’ inward/outward movements and discharging/loading operations at Kuwaiti ports have resumed, after Customs employees called off their strike at 20:00 hours yesterday (20 March).

As per the Budget presented to the Indian Parliament for the forthcoming financial year, Service Tax rate has been increased from 10.30% to 12.36% of the Gross Taxable Value with effect from 1 April 2012.

From 21 March 2012 and for a period of approximately four months, marine site investigation works involving drilling of boreholes will be carried out in the following areas:
AREA 1: This area is bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (A) to (E) and the adjacent shoreline:
(A) 22 deg. 21.804’N / 113 deg. 56.837’E
(B) 22 deg. 21.806’N / 113 deg. 56.968’E
(C) 22 deg. 21.426’N / 113 deg. 57.234’E
(D) 22 deg. 21.188’N / 113 deg. 57.136’E
(E) 22 deg. 21.679’N / 113 deg. 56.888’E
AREA 2: This area is bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (F) to (I): (F) 22 deg. 21.263’N / 113 deg. 57.460’E (G) 22 deg. 21.263’N / 113 deg. 57.584’E (H) 22 deg. 20.852’N / 113 deg. 57.511’E (I) 22 deg. 20.883’N / 113 deg. 57.340’E
AREA 3: This area is bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (J) to (M): (J) 22 deg. 20.609’N / 113 deg. 57.447’E (K) 22 deg. 20.597’N / 113 deg. 57.566’E (L) 22 deg. 19.527’N / 113 deg. 57.716’E (M) 22 deg. 19.560’N / 113 deg. 57.596’E
Three flat top barges and one jack-up platform will carry out the works. A few tugs will provide assistance.
A working area of approximately 50 metres around each barge will be established. Yellow marker buoys fitted with yellow flashing lights will be laid to mark the positions of the anchors extending from the barges.
A working area of approximately 25 metres around the jack-up platform will be established. Yellow flashing lights will be installed at the four corners of the platform to indicate the position of the platform.
The hours of work will be from 0700 to 1900 hours. No works will be carried out on Sundays and public holidays. Vessels employed for the works will stay in the works areas outside the hours of work.
Vessels engaged in the operations will display signals as prescribed in international and local regulations.
Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution.
