Kakinada Seaport Ltd has revised its port tariff for 2012, to come into effect from 1 April 2012.

DATE: March 29, 2012  -COUNTRY: India – PORT: Mumba i-  Naval firing practice

The Navy will be conducting firing practice from 0700 hours to 1300 hours in 4 April 2012. During this period, there will no be no shipping movements in Mumbai Harbour.

No anchorages will be allotted during this time.

All vessels anchored in the inner berths are required to vacate the anchorage by midnight on 3 April 2012.

No ships will be allowed to be anchored in the firing area at the PLA.

DATE: March 29, 2012 – COUNTRY: Singapore – PORT: Singapore – Sensor deployment & testing at Selat Paul Anchorage

Sensor deployment and testing work is being carried out at Selat Paul Anchorage until 28 September 2012.

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore’s Port Marine Notice No.31 of 2012, the work is being conducted between 0700 and 1800 hours daily (excluding  Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays), within the working area bounded by the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) 1) 01° 12.974’N / 103° 44.342’E 2) 01° 12.974’N / 103° 44.612’E 3) 01° 12.920’N / 103° 44.612’E 4) 01° 12.920’N / 103° 44.342’E

The daily tests will consist of deployment of buoys, sensor and the object drop testing and recovery of drop objects. The daily testing will be carried out by the landing craft “LITA QUEST”.

A safety boat will be deployed in the vicinity to warn other craft of the project work.

These craft will exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to: (a) Keep well clear and not to enter the working area; (b) Maintain a proper lookout; (c) Proceed at a safe speed & navigate with caution; (d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF channel  68 (West Control); and (e) Communicate with West  Control on VHF  68 for assistance, if required.

DATE: March 29, 2012 – COUNTRY: Singapore – PORT: Singapore -Construction of sea water intake structure off Tuas View 

Construction work for a sea water intake structure will be carried out off Tuas View from 5 April to 4 October.

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore’s Port Marine Notice No.39 of 2012, the works will be conducted 24 hours daily – including Sundays & Public Holidays – within the working area bounded by the following coordinates (WGS 84 Datum):

  • A) 01° 18.000’N / 103° 37.190’E
  • B) 01° 18.040’N / 103° 37.100’E
  • C) 01° 18.290’N / 103° 37.190’E
  • D) 01° 18.260’N / 103° 37.290’E

The construction of the sea water intake structure will entail the construction of a temporary cofferdam, installation of pipelines, the removal of existing revetment and reinstatement works on the revetment.

A safety boat will be deployed to warn other craft of the working area.

Craft involved in the works will exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to: (a) Keep well clear and not to enter the working area; (b) Maintain a proper lookout; (c) Proceed at a safe speed & navigate with caution; (d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF channel  22 (Jurong Control); and (e) Communicate with Jurong Control on VHF 22 for assistance, if required.

DATE: March 29, 2012 – COUNTRY: Trinidad & Tobago  – PORT: all ports – Spiritual Baptist Liberation Day holiday

Tomorrow, Friday 30 March, is a holiday in Trinidad marking ‘Spiritual Baptist Liberation Day’.

Offices will be closed, however operations will continue as normal.
