The Federal Government of Nigeria has declared Friday 6 April and Monday 9 April public holidays to mark this year’s Good Friday and Easter Monday celebration.

The working area has been revised and the working period extended for Phase 4 of reclamation of Jurong Island.
According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore’s Port Marine Notice No.42 of 2012, dated 2 April 2012, from 3 April to 2 October, the works will be conducted 24 hours daily – including Sundays & Public Holidays – within the working area bounded by the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
- 1) 1 deg. 14.410’N / 103 deg. 39.974’E
- 2) 1 deg. 14.318’N / 103 deg. 39.783’E
- 3) 1 deg. 14.568’N / 103 deg. 39.663’E
- 4) 1 deg. 15.057’N / 103 deg. 39.430’E
- 5) 1 deg. 15.546’N / 103 deg. 39.197’E
- 6) 1 deg. 15.928’N / 103 deg. 39.015’E (Jurong Empat/YBY Pillar/ Q (9) 15s)
- 7) 1 deg. 16.333’N / 103 deg. 39.300’E
- 8) 1 deg. 16.240’N / 103 deg. 39.364’E
The following buoys will temporarily be installed in the vicinity of the working area:
– Jurong Dua 1 deg. 14.862’N / 103 deg. 39.524’E Green Cone/ FL G 4s
– Jurong Tiga 1 deg. 15.395’N / 103 deg. 39.269’E Green Cone/ FL G 6s
The reclamation works will involve cutter suction (CS) dredgers, trailer-suctionhopper (TSH) dredgers and hopper barges. Shore protection works will be carried out by crane barges and the dredging of sand-key trench by grab dredger.
Craft involved in the works will exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.
When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
- (a) Keep well clear and not to enter the working area;
- (b) Maintain a proper lookout;
- (c) Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;
- (d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 22 (Jurong Control); and
- (e) Communicate with Jurong Control on VHF Channel 22 for assistance, if required.
