For the past week, Somali piracy incidents have occurred at low levels, with one reported vessel attacked.
In the Arabian Sea, a bulk carrier was attacked on 4 April while underway at position 21:38 N – 059:59 E, approximately 130nm southeast of Muscat, Oman. Pirates in one skiff fired upon the vessel, security team aboard the merchant vessel returned fire, forcing the pirates to move away.

DATE: April 09, 2012 – COUNTRY: United States – PORT: Houston, Texas -Houston Ship Channel closure
The U.S. Coast Guard has approved closure of the Houston Ship Channel for salvage operations from 0800 hours on 10 April until 0200 on 11 April.
The works will be to remove approximately 550+/- feet of 36″ submerged pipeline in an area extending from LT82 south to LT78 by Dredge R.S.Weeks and Underwater Services.
