DATE: April 10, 2012 – COUNTRY: Qatar – PORT: all ports – Drilling and rig demobilisation operations

RasGas Company Limited has issued Notices to Mariners advising of jack-up rig demobilisation and drilling operations within Qatar’s North Field Development from tomorrow (11 April 2012).

RasGas are undertaking drilling operations by the offshore jack-up rig Ensco-88 at the following coordinates: – Lat :  26 deg 27 min 15.478 sec North – Long: 052 deg. 04 min 30.999 sec East

UTM: 607 200.85 m East     Clarke 1880 sheroid Nahrwan Datum 2.926 207.01 m North  UTM Projection: CM 51 deg E, Zone 39

The approximate mobilisation date will be 11 April 2012 and the approximate project duration will be 150 days.

Further, due to the demobilisation of the jack-up rig Ensco-88 from Barzan Remote Well Head Jacket at:

Barzan Well Head Platform – 1 (without Topside) – Lat :  26 deg 35 min 00.65 sec North – Long: 051 deg 51 min 46.51 sec East

RasGas will install two navigational white lights with the character Group Flashing 3 on the jacket.

RasGas advises all fishermen and mariners to be mindful of these operations and avoid interfering with the activities.

DATE: April 10, 2012 – COUNTRY: Singapore – PORT: Singapore – Construction of pontoon facility at West Coast Base 

The working period for the construction of a pontoon facility at West Coast Base has been extended.

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore’s Port Marine Notice No.44 of 2012, the works are now being carried out 24 hours daily – including Sundays & Public Holidays – until 31 May, within a working area bounded by the following coordinates (WGS 84 Datum):

  • A) 01° 17.517’N / 103° 45.588’E
  • B) 01° 17.473’N / 103° 45.661’E
  • C) 01° 17.504’N / 103° 45.679’E
  • D) 01° 17.548’N / 103° 45.606’E

The construction works entail piling works and installation of floating pontoons to the driven piles and gangways. A crane barge is being used for the installation of pontoons. The crane barge used in the project works is being shifted by a tug operating in pusher mode. A safety boat will be in attendance throughout the duration of the operation.

Craft involved in the works will exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:

  • (a) Keep well clear and not to enter the working area;
  • (b) Maintain a proper lookout;
  • (c) Proceed at a safe speed & navigate with caution;
  • (d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 25 (Pasir Panjang Control); and
  • (e) Communicate with Pasir Panjang Control on Channel 25 for assistance, if required.
