DATE: May 25, 2012 – COUNTRY: Hong Kong – PORT: Hong Kong – Yacht Race from Hong Kong to Taiwan
A yacht race from Hong Kong to Taiwan will take place on 1 June 2012 (Friday) at around 1210 hours. About 5 yachts are expected to participate in the race.
The race will commence in the vicinity of Tai Long Pai, Shek O. It will follow a route through the Tathong Channel, thence to Taiwan.
Masters, coxswains and persons-in-charge of vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution, giving practical consideration to the contestants. Compliance with the provisions of the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea 1972 is mandatory.

Port of Brisbane trade charges shall increase uniformly by CPI 3.1% effective from 1 July 2012.
The Port will also introduce an application fee for submitting “Notice of intention to load or Unload or Transfer Bulk Liquids” form.
The “Notice of intention to load or Unload or Transfer Bulk Liquids” application fee will be A$250 + GST per activity and will apply for all activities submitted. An activity is defined as shore-to-ship, ship-to-shore (including road tanker-to ship or ship-to road tanker) and ship-to ship. The application fee has been set to cover the cost of undertaking the bulk liquid transfer inspections, which are performed in accordance with the provisions of the Queensland Government’s transport Operations (Marine Pollution) Act 1995 (TOMP Act) and the conditions in the Port Notice Bulk Liquid Transfers in Non Tanks berths, Use of Sea Valves and Tank washing.
Further, from 1 July 2012, water charges will increase to A$3.58 per kilolitre + GST which is reflective of the current charges issued by Queensland Urban Utilities. Also a connection fee shall be introduced A$120.05 + GST for each request to supply fresh water.
Harbour Dues shall now be applicable for all Cruise Ships calling Brisbane effective 1 July 2012 charged at A$0.20 per Vessels GRT.
