What a Great Triumvirate** that was last Thursday night at the Athens Golf Club in Glyfada! Bureau Veritas  smashed its past Posidonia receptions record with a four digit figure!

BV’s team headed by Bernard Anne, President and CEO of one of the world’s biggest Classification Groups, Francoise Tessier – regional Chief Executive for the Hellenic and the Black Sea regions, Lambros Chachalis – Chief Executive Marine Greece and Cyprus  and Thanassis Angelopoulos – Marine Department Manager, entertained  us in exceptional  style until the mid-night hour.

Who wasn’t there! Spotted Panos Laskaridis, John Ktistakis, Antonis Faraklas, George Maghioros, George Xyradakis, Rt Adm HCG George Stroubis, Lou Kollakis,  the Moundreas’, Markos  J. Tripolitis, Allied Shipbrokers’ Captain Kostas Karadimas,   Paul Farquharson and Michael Guy from the Bahamas High Commission in London and Stelios Anastopoulos from the Greek Office,  Pantelis M. Skoufalos and his wife, Elena Sendona with banker Panos Nikoulis, George Liadis and his wife Maria-Christina Ktistakis, Theo Polydoros,   the big team from A & P Papadakis’ London office, Angelos Tsiolis and his wife Evi Hadjidakis, Dr. Christos Constanti-Zarifi with his fiancée Agnieszka Bak and many many others – the majority being shipping technical executives.

*Grand slam: Winning all the golf’s major championships in the same calendar year. Before The Masters was founded, the national amateur championships of the U.S and the UK were considered majors along with the two national opens and only Bobby Jones has ever completed a grand slam with these. No man has ever achieved a modern grand slam, Tiger Woods being the closest in winning all four consecutively, but over two calendar years.
