DATE: June 07, 2012 COUNTRY: South Africa PORT: Cape Town OPL launch services suspended due to bad weather
The local launch boat company at Cape Town has advised that because of bad weather conditions, all OPL launch services have been suspended due to safety concerns for the safe transfer of personnel or goods.
If possible, a vessel may be arranged to provide service at Anchorage 2, 3 or 4. At this stage, Bay service is also questionable as the poor weather extends to the Bay Area as well.
Vessel owners and operators are urged to consider the helicopter service as an alternative.
