In the same way that LIFE MATTERS to Lloyd’s Register, winning matters to canoe slalom Olympic medallist, David Florence.
In sports, as with business, performance and achievement are key to individual and group success. David’s drive and ambition to be the best in his sport have resulted in a very successful year for him when competing on his own in the C1 (one man canoe) and with his team mate Richard Hounslow in the C2 (two man canoe) events. Our partnership with David is inspired by our ambition to support education and promote the fields of engineering and other technical disciplines around the world. With a degree in Mathematical Physics from Nottingham University David has a keen interest in our business. He has helped us to engage with schools and universities, and through his experience in the sporting world, inspire students to obtain success for themselves through training and dedication. By doing this we hope to promote a winning approach to future generations as well as positioning the name of Lloyd’s Register and our commitment to engineering and education.
All eyes are on David as one of Team GB’s medal hopefuls for this year’s games after he won silver at the 2008 Olympics. Join us in wishing him the best of luck in the C1 and C2 events at the 2012 Olympics!
