The working period has been extended for construction works for the
secondary SLNG Terminal at Jurong Island.

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore’s Port Marine
Notice No.130 of 2012, the works will now be conducted 24 hours daily –
including Sundays & Public Holidays – from 30 September 2012 to 29 March
2013, within a working area bounded by the following coordinates (WGS 84
Datum)):
1) 01° 13.642’N / 103° 40.560’E
2) 01° 13.716’N / 103° 40.509’E
(Buoy characteristics: Helios 1/ FL(2)Y 8s)
3) 01° 13.911’N / 103° 40.374’E
(Buoy characteristics: Helios 2/ FL(2)Y 6s)
4) 01° 13.990’N / 103° 40.319’E
5) 01° 14.076’N / 103° 40.352’E

Construction of the jetty will entail piling concrete works, installation
of marine fendering system and mooring facilities. Piling and concrete
works will be carried out by work barges.

Safety boats will be deployed in the vicinity to warn other craft of the
project work.

Craft involved in the works will exhibit the appropriate local and
international day and night signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
(a) Keep well clear and not to enter the working area;
(b) Maintain a proper lookout;
(c) Proceed at a safe speed & navigate with caution;
(d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 22 (Jurong Control);
and
(e) Communicate with Jurong Control on VHF Channel 22, for assistance, if
required.

Ship-owners, agents, masters and port operators are reminded that the
Marine Department provides a domestic refuse collection service to ships in
Victoria Harbour, Junk Bay and the Western Anchorages.

The service is provided free of charge daily from 0900 to 1600 hours except
Sunday, Public Holidays or when tropical signal No.3 or above is hoisted.

Domestic refuse does not include any operational waste or cargo residue
defined under Annex I to IV of the International Convention for the
Prevention of Pollution from Ships, 1973 as amended by the Protocol of 1978
(MARPOL 73/78), or other hazardous cargo residue.

Masters requiring the service must ensure that domestic refuse has been
separated from other waste prior to discharge. Requests for the service
should be made during office hours to the Pollution Control Unit of Marine
Department at telephone +852 2534 7227 and +852 2534 7228 or at any hours
by fax +852 2543 6877. Details, such as quantity of the domestic refuse in
cubic metres; name and location of the vessel, shall be provided when
making the request.
