DATE: September 25, 2012  COUNTRY: Greece  PORT: all ports  24-hour Greek mariners’ strike  

The Pan-Hellenic Mariners Association has declared a 24 hour strike  tomorrow (26 September), as part of a day of protest by workers from  different sections of Greek society.   Customs officials, some public transport employees and selected public and  private sector workers are also expected to participate in the strike.   For information about operations in Greece contact GAC Greece at  greece@gac.com

DATE: September 25, 2012  COUNTRY: Chile  PORT: Antofagasta  Stevedores’ strike over  

The Stevedores’ Union of Antofagasta Terminal Internacional (ATI) has ended  its strike which had started on 30 August.   Access to the port is now possible and all loading/discharge operations  have been resumed.   (For information about operations in Chile contact the GAC Houston Hub  Agency Centre at hub.us@gac.com)
