Kiel Canal authorities have advised that the big South Lock at Brunsbuttel will be permanently out of service until further notice. The new big North Lock chamber and both small lock chambers remain in service. DATE: September 25, 2012 COUNTRY: Greece PORT: all ports 24-hour Greek mariners’ strike
The Pan-Hellenic Mariners Association has declared a 24 hour strike tomorrow (26 September), as part of a day of protest by workers from different sections of Greek society. Customs officials, some public transport employees and selected public and private sector workers are also expected to participate in the strike. The Stevedores’ Union of Antofagasta Terminal Internacional (ATI) has ended its strike which had started on 30 August.
