On Monday, 15th October, in Limassol, Cyprus, the Cyprus Marine Environment Protection Association – CYMEPA celebrated 20 years of voluntary, non-governmental, not-for-profit action for the protection of both the marine environment of Cyprus and of the world’s oceans, which are traversed by the Association’s volunteer member-vessels.
During the Gala Dinner and in the presence of the representative of H.E. the President of the Republic of Cyprus, dignitaries and members of the maritime community, CYMEPA honoured its Founder, Sir Stelios Hadjioannou and HELMEPA‘s Director General, Dimitris C. Mitsatsos. Further, the Founding members of CYMEPA were also honoured who, since 1992, still remain members of the Association today. Sir Stelios presented Mr. Mitsatsos with a commemorative plaque “in expression of gratitude and appreciation for 20 Years of valuable support and Voluntary Commitment to Save the Seas”.
