For approximately 10 months, an acoustic monitor will be temporarily established on the seabed [off Hong Kong International Airport] in each of the following locations:

Location (E) 22 deg. 20.295’N / 113 deg. 53.918’E
An acoustic monitor is an instrument for collecting dolphin data. It is a pyramid shape structure of 1.0 meter long, 1.0 meter wide and 0.5 meter high. Its bottom will be embedded in the seabed. Regular diving operations for collecting data and inspection of the monitors will be carried out every two months.
The diving operations will be carried out by one work boat in the above locations. The hours of works will be from 0700 to 1900 hours. No works will be carried out on Sundays and public holidays.
The vessel engaged in the operations will display signals as prescribed in international and local regulations.
Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution and keep clear at a slow speed, bearing in mind that there are divers working in the area.

DATE: December 14, 2012 – COUNTRY: Australia – PORT: Port Kembla – Marine pilots’ industrial dispute resolved
Port Kembla Port Authority has advused that an agreement has been reached between the union (AMOU), PKPC’s Marine Pilots and Port Kembla Port Corp on the Marine Pilots’ EBA.
The two-year Agreement, effective 1 April 2012 until 31 March 2014, has been submitted to Fair Work Australia for registration.

DATE: December 14, 2012- COUNTRY: Australia PORT: Port Kembla – Coal Terminal three-day maintenance shutdown
Port Kembla Coal Terminal has programmed a three-day maintenance shutdown from 0700 on Tuesday 18 December until 0700 on Friday 21 December, to service both the ship loaders and reclaimers.
There will be no ship loading operations during this period.
