DATE: December 31, 2012 COUNTRY: United States PORT: New Orleans, Louisiana Hotel accommodation during Super Bowl & Mardi Gras

As New Orleans will be host both the 2013 Super Bowl and the annual Mardi Gras from 21 January to 4 February 2013, there will be a severe shortage of available hotel accommodation in the city and its surrounding areas during this period.

Vessel owners and operators are urged to bear this in mind when planning crew arrivals or departures at New Orleans.

DATE: December 31, 2012 COUNTRY: Australia: all ports – Australian ports closures and maintenance

Abbot Point monthly O/L maintenance has been scheduled on 4th January. There will be no ship loading from 0700hrs until 1900hrs (local time).

Due to strong winds and heavy swells, Hay Point Terminal advise Berth 1 will be closed from 1700hrs on 31 Dec to 1100hrs on 01 January/

Gladstone Terminal’s scheduled maintenance will be on:
– 15 to 17 January (3 days): Ship loader No.2
– 05 to 07 February (3 days): Ship loader No.3
– 19 to 21 February (3 days): Ship loader No.1
– 12 to 14 March (3 days): Ship loader No.2

Barney Point Coal Terminal will also have a scheduled maintenance from 11 to 15 February (5 days).

All GAC Australia offices will be closed on Tuesday 1st January 2013 for the New Year’s Day holiday. All coal and iron ore terminals are operating
as normal during the public holiday. On call staff will attend to ships as required during the public holiday.
