* Turkey, all ports – New Customs Requirement for Spare Clearance in
Transit in Turkey
DATE: January 06, 2013 COUNTRY: Turkey PORT: all ports – New Customs Requirement for Spare Clearance in Transit in Turkey
Please be informed that as of 01.01.2013 Turkish Customs will require original invoice declaration for clearance of the spares in transit arriving to the vessels at port or straits. Please always send us the original invoices together with the AWB copies and packing list so that we clear and deliver the spares to the vessels timely. Please also note that original invoices must have invoice number, date and wet stamp/signature (not copy or digital signature) otherwise they will not have any validity during customs declaration which will result in customs clearance failure.
On the hand, as GAC Turkey we have sent our objection letter to the Customs Directorate stating that this new application will increase a lot the transit spare delivery to the vessels causing huge complications. We will let you know timely in case there is any change in the new application.
Please always send us the original invoices together with the AWB copies and packing list.
