Jesper Hansen
DSV Road Limited, the third largest logistics provider in Europe, has appointed Jesper Hansen as its UK Managing Director from 17June 2013.
Jesper Hansen (38) has been with DSV Road in Sweden since 1997 where he joined as Traffic Manager Benelux/France, going on to become Business Area Manager for the same region. In 2004, he became Business Area Manager for the Swedish market and then was appointed Division Director Domestic SE / Management Group SE in 2011 where he ran a team of 330 staff with an annual turnover of £200 million across 20 locations.
He will be based in the UK at the Purfleet office.
Mr Hansen said of his new role: “I am delighted to be leading such a great team as DSV Road in the UK. This is a very strong part of our group which delivers excellent results through on-going hard work and dedication. I am looking forward to continuing on the great work.”
He added: “Following the recent successful launch of our Daily Pallet Service and our plans moving forward we have a very exciting future ahead of us.”
Mr Hansen takes over from Rene Falch Olesen, who is part of the group executive management board, and will now concentrate on his role of Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), DSV Group A/S.
Mr Falch Olesen, who will remain based in the UK where he has been since 1996, said: “I took on the CCO role two years ago and over that time it has become increasingly important for DSV. The focus of the Global Commercial organisation is to lead initiatives aimed at the organic growth of DSV as a whole – a role I look very much forward to giving my full attention and energy.
“Jesper is the ideal person to lead DSV Road in the UK to the next level and I know he will do a great job. I wish him every success.”
