USCG Safety Zone for Penns Landing Fireworks

The USCG issued a Temporary Final Rule establishing a safety zone on July 6
from 9:15pm until 10:30pm to mitigate the risks associated with the Penns
Landing Fireworks Display.

The safety zone encompasses all the waters of the Delaware River, adjacent
to Penns Landing, Philadelphia, PA bounded from shoreline to shoreline,
bounded on the south by a line running east to west from points along the
shoreline at latitude 39°56’31.2″N, longitude 075°08’28.1″W; thence to
latitude 39°56’29.1″N, longitude 075°07’56.5″W, and bounded on the north by
the Benjamin Franklin Bridge.

Change to towage charges

Effective from 1 August 2013 there will be a single towage charge of
$48488.00 (excl GST) – $53240.00 (incl. GST for all vessels calling at the
[Port of Hay Point]….

….in relation to towage charges for the services to the BMA Hay Point
Coal Terminal, the charge out rate is all-inclusive and includes the two
tugs, line-boat, linesmen and wharf charges….

…the current policy of waivering tig cancellations/rescheduling will
remain in place….

Suez Canal and Egyptian ports unaffected by political developments

As new political developments unfold in Egypt, operations in the Suez Canal
and at all Egyptian ports continue as normal, unaffected by the situation.

The Egyptian army says that NO state of emergency has been declared in the
South Sinai and Suez provinces. The Sinai peninsula is reported to be “on
alert” only.
