Draft reduction at oil terminal
It has been decided to reduce the draft at Cochin Oil Terminal from
existing 12.5 metres to 9.14 metres with effect from 10-7-2013.

Pipeline repairs at Pesek Basin
The working period for pipeline repairs at Pesek Basin has been revised.
The work will now be conducted from 15 July to 31 August.
According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore’s Port Marine
Notice No.89 of 2013, the work will be carried out 24 hours daily –
including Sundays and Public Holidays – within the area bounded by the
following co-ordinates
(WGS 84 Datum):
1) 01°16.510’N / 103°41.230’E
2) 01°16.460’N / 103°41.180’E
3) 01°16.530’N / 103°41.230’E
4) 01°16.490’N / 103°41.180’E
The pipeline repair works will entail the removal of seabed sand to expose
the pipeline and install a repair clamp. The work will be carried out using
a work barge and divers.
A safety boat will be in attendance throughout the duration of the repair
works to warn other craft of the works in the vicinity.
Craft involved in the works will exhibit the appropriate local and
international day and
night signals.
When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
(a) keep well clear and not to enter th working area;
(b) maintain a proper lookout;
(c) proceed at a safe speed & navigate with caution;
(d) maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 22 (Jurong Control);
and
(e) communicate with Jurong Control on Channel 22 for assistance, if
required.

AIMPE 24-hour strike announced
The Australian Institute of Marine and Power Engineers (AIMPE) has advised
that they intend to stage a 24-hour stoppage from noon next Wednesday (17
July) at the ports of Brisbane, Newcastle, Botany and Melbourne.
This is part of a dispute with towage provider Svitzer. Efforts are
continuing the find ways to resolve the dispute and avoid industrial
action.
