Victory Day in Turkey
Turkey will celebrate the 91st anniversary of its Victory Day from Friday
30 August until Sunday 1 September.
All official institutions and banks will be closed from 30 August to 1
September.
Arrangements for crew, spares, provisions, etc. should be made in good time
to enable them to be acted upon in good time.
Meanwhile, some ports may be close on these dates and charges for official
services (pilotage, towage, mooring, customs, etc.) be increased by 50%. It
is therefore advisable to check with GAC Turkey prior calling at any
Turkish Port.
GAC Turkey will be on duty during the holiday.

Surveyors not working at weekends
Brazilian Agriculture Ministry surveyors at the port of Sao Francisco do
Sol will no longer work between 17:00 hours local time on Friday until
08:00 hours on Monday.
As a result, vessels completing loading operations during the weekend may
suffer additional delays in sailing.
