Lock gate severely damaged in collision

No.6 lock gate of the Kiel Canal’s New Big South Lock at Kiel-Holtenau was
severely damaged in a collision last night (Friday 11 October).

The New Big South Lock Chamber has had to be taken out of service until
further notice, and temporary repairs will commence soonest possible.

Meanwhile, the New Big North Lock Chamber has been brought into service.
However, for the time being, only vessels with a up to 30 metres will be
accepted for Kiel Canal Transit.

Eid Holiday in Yemen

The Yemeni Ministry of Civil Service and Social Security announced that the
Eid Holiday in Yemen will be from Sunday 13 to Sunday 20 October,
inclusive.

Work will resume on Monday 21 October.

Operations at GAC Yemen will be attended by skeleton staff.

Persons authorised to supply water in port

Under the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Act (Cap. 170A), no
person shall supply water to vessels within the port unless:
(a) he is authorised to do so by a public licence or an exemption granted
by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (“MPA”) pursuant to section
81(1) of the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Act (Cap. 170A);
or
(b) he does so through MPA or by agreement with MPA pursuant to regulation
74 of the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (Port)
Regulations….

….Reports on any unauthorised person(s) supplying water to ocean going
vessels and harbour craft in port may be made via email at msd@mpa.gov.sg
for MPA’s investigation.

Rig movement

MVs HIGHLAND VALOUR, HIGHLAND COURAGE and HAMMERHEAD with the
semi-submersible drilling rig OCEAN LEXINGTON in tow will be moving from
the PRIMROSE 1 well location at 11-16.49 N; 061 – 23.15 W to an anchorage
location off Chaguaramas at 10-37.27 N; 061-42.45 W from on or about 12
October, 2013.

The rig will be at that location for a period of approximately three (3)
weeks thereafter.
A 500-meter berth is requested and caution is advised.
