Pyrotechnics display at Cruise Bay
A pyrotechnics display will be staged in Cruise Bay between 2100 and 2130
hours local time tomorrow (Thursday, 28 November).
In case of bad weather, the display will take place during the alternate
period between 2200 and 2230 hours, or will be postponed until 29 November.
According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine
Notice No. 153 of 2013 dated 27 November 2013, the Fireworks Display Barge
will be located at 01° 15.645’N / 103° 49.274’E.
A circular safety zone of 200 meter radius centered at the fireworks
display barge will be enforced during the display from 2100hrs to 2130hrs
and alternate period from 2200hrs to 2230hrs. Safety boat will cordon off
the safety zone.
Craft involved in the display will exhibit the appropriate local and
international day and night signals.
Pursuant to Section 43 (c) of the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore
Act (Cap 170A), the Port Master hereby declares that during the
pyrotechnics display:
(a) no vessel shall enter or remain within the safety zone during the
display period and the alternate period (except for those involved in the
organisation of the display);
and
(b) all vessels are to proceed at a safe speed when navigating in the
vicinity of the display area.

Seawall reinstatement works at Tung Wan, Cheung Chau
For approximately 3 months, seawall reinstatement works will be carried out
[at Tung Wan, Cheung Chau] in the area bounded by straight lines joining
the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (A) to (D) and the adjacent
shoreline:
(A) 22 deg. 12.477’N / 114 deg. 01.946’E
(B) 22 deg. 12.519’N / 114 deg. 01.946’E
(C) 22 deg. 12.519’N / 114 deg. 02.004’E
(D) 22 deg. 12.476’N / 114 deg. 02.004’E
The works will be carried out by one derrick lighter. One backhoe pontoon,
one flat-top pontoon, one tug and one guard boat will provide assistance.
A working area of approximately 25 metres around the derrick lighter will
be established. Yellow marker buoys fitted with yellow flashing lights will
be laid to mark the positions of the anchors extending from the derrick
lighter.
The hours of work will be from 0800 to 1900 hours. No work will be carried
out on Sundays and public holidays. Vessels employed for the works will
stay in the works area outside the hours of work.
A silt curtain, extending from the sea surface to the seabed, will be
established within the works area. The silt curtain is a large piece of
netting used to contain mud and sediments. Yellow markers fitted with
yellow flashing lights will be laid to mark the extent of the silt curtain.
Vessels engaged in the operations will display signals as prescribed in
international and local regulations.
Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution.

Laying of water pipeline
For approximately 3 months, marine works involving backfilling operations
and sounding survey will be carried out in the area bounded by straight
lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (A) to (H) via
(B), (C), (D), (E), (F), (G) and the adjacent shorelines:
(A) 22º 17.009’N / 114º 10.305’E
(B) 22º 17.004’N / 114º 10.232’E
(C) 22º 17.093’N / 114º 10.267’E
(D) 22º 17.238’N / 114º 10.341’E
(E) 22º 17.451’N / 114º 10.364’E
(F) 22º 17.593’N / 114º 10.344’E
(G) 22º 17.578’N / 114º 10.453’E
(H) 22º 17.090’N / 114º 10.395’E
The works will be carried out by a flotilla of vessels including one grab
dredger, one split hopper barge, one derrick barge, one tug and one work
boat. The number of vessels engaged in the works will change from time to
time to suit operational requirements.
A working area of approximately 50 metres around the grab dredger and each
barge will be established. Yellow marker buoys fitted with yellow flashing
lights will be laid to mark the positions of the anchors extending from the
grab dredger and barges.
The works will be carried out round-the-clock.
Vessels engaged in the operations will display signals as prescribed in
international and local regulations.
Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution.
