In our view as well as to all those we met from other regions, that was the Yachting event of events not only in the Far East region but for the entire world too; John Faraclas and Anny Zade were there and report for allaboutshipping.co.uk‘s international viewers:
Having attended many such international events all over the world, Monaco, London, Athens and Poros in Greece to name but a few, I confess that the Singapore Yacht Show is undisputedly Asia’s largest ever display of super-yachts, boats, marine leisure crafts and more. It gives you the opportunity to experience the world’s finest super yachts and international brands. Think glamour, high-end entertaining, super cars – a real haven for hte jet set, high fliers and those with aspirations to join the club…
This four day event from the 10th of April until today attracted thousands of visitors not only from the Subcontinent and Asia Pacific regions, but from Europe, Africa and the Americas.
On day one, after the official opening ceremony at 13:00, visitors enjoyed the rig climbing programme of events on board the Tall Ship Royal Albatross and in the evening there was a well attended VIP dinner at Saint Pierre, Sentosa Cove at 19:30; on day two the show/exhibition was open from 14:00 to 22:00 hrs with sponsors and exhibitors parties held aboard yachts, exhibitors stands and restaurants; yesterday in the afternoon besides the other events, there was a Fashion Show with print kaftans from Camilla opposite the Boaters’ Bar, the Ferrari Rendevous at the Esplenada Area followed by the fashion shows’s exquisite clutch bags by White Moon. The day ended with a great party at the Sentosa Cove.
After an excellent light launch at the Sentosa Golf Club we drove down at the Sentosa Cove at the One015 Marina Club for this year’s show. The Marina’s Quays were full of yachts – nearly one hundred of them including The Tall Ship Royal Albatross, one of the greatest line-ups ever experienced in this finest and most prestigious lifestyle event in the Asia Pacific region. This line-up brings to the visitors of One0 15 Marina Club a host of well-known marine brands, a unique experience of impressive designs and technical skills of world acclaimed companies like Alloy Yachts, Azimut, Beneateau, Burgess CMN, Heesen Yachts, Jeanneau, Peri Navi, Princess Yachts, Riva, Riviera, Rossinavi, Sunreef Yachts, Sunseekers to name but a few. Broking and total services companies such as Edmiston, GAC, Martelo Yachting, Simpson Marine and many others had stands too. Finance, Insurance companies and facilitators such as MAXIM Trader, SEAYSS, QBE, Circle 8 and other companies completed the line-up.
Did I hear you say cars? Rolls Royce, The BMW Group, Aston Martine, Ferrari – Ital, Lamborghini…were there too…
The Press and Media had a great presence with the Superyacht Group being the beacon of the Media Partners headed by Rebecca Curran; Yacht Investor, Yacht Style Prestige and many many other publications where there too.
The Food and Drinks industry presence was impresive; the property market specialists; the marinas’ experts; developers and lastly many sponsors and show partners.
We had excellent experts’ advice from the Superyacht Singapore Association and its very eloquent Ms Pamela Tan.
The Shipping Industry and the Yachting world are interwoven. It is thanks to the Shipping Industry (mainly) and its affluent members worldwide that the Yachting world is alive and kicking to all intents and purposes despite an otherwise bleak global economic situation. From the Leisure and Tourist Industries too one can see the influence of the shipping world. Marinas world-wide and Yachting Resorts and Residence areas bring wealth to all involved.
Now ink your diary and see you next year between 23rd and 26th of April 2015. The 2015 event will continue to build upon the success of this year’s show; excellent!
The event within the exhibition hall and the marina can be seen in the live videos that follow this reporting including the finale…
