Al-Issra Wa Al- Miraj holiday
Official offices at Port Sultan Qaboos will be closed on Tuesday (27 May)
due to the public holiday to mark Al-Issra Wa Al- Miraj. Vessel operations
will continue on an overtime basis.
The GAC Muscat office will close for the holiday, but duty staff will
attend to operational issues and any urgent matters.

Harbour wall berthing
With effect from 1 June 2014, at 18, 19, 20 and 21 Harbour Wall vessels
will berth starboard side alongside and will have draft restriction of 8.5
meters.
Vessels may berth port side alongside at 18 habour wall depending upon the
weather and tidal conditions.
No immobilization will be allowed at outer berths, i.e., BOS, BPX, 18, 19,
20, 21 and 22 Harbour wall.

Curfew imposed
The Royal Thai Army has announced a nationwide curfew from 22:00 to 05:00
hours, following the TV announcement that the military has taken control of
the government.
This will have an impact on any operations that require attention during
the curfew hours.

Upgrading & construction at Crestsa Shipyard, Sungei Pandan
Upgrading and construction work will be carried out at the Crestsa
Shipyard, Sungei Pandan, from 23 May through to 12 November.
According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine
Notice No. 70 of 2014 dated 21 May 2014, the works will be carried out
between 0700 and 1900 hours daily – including Sundays & Public Holidays –
within the working area bounded by the following coordinates (WGS 84
Datum):
A) 01° 18.095’N / 103° 45.297’E
B) 01° 18.090’N / 103° 45.285’E
C) 01° 17.994’N / 103° 45.326’E
D) 01° 17.999’N / 103° 45.337’E
Upgrading and construction work will entail sheet piling and filling of
dock with dumping material. Excavators, bulldozer and crawler crane with
vibration hammer will be used for piling and armour work.
When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
(a) Keep well clear and not to enter the working area;
(b) Maintain a proper lookout;
(c) Proceed at a safe speed & navigate with caution;
(d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF channel 25( Pasir Panjang Control);
and
(e) Communicate with Pasir Panjang Control on VHF 25 for assistance, if
required.
