ACO Marine and Image Line to drive MEPC 227/64 awareness campaign

by admin

Leading waste water treatment systems specialist ACO Marine has contracted Image Line Communications’ Maritime, Energy & Offshore division to provide public relations and marketing services in support of new IMO MEPC waste water rules.

Image Line will work closely with ACO Marine Managing Director Mark Beavis to increase industry awareness of the company and its products and to ensure that the global shipping industry is fully aware of the upcoming regulatory changes that will impact the treatment of waste water onboard ship.

ACO Marine, a subsidiary of the German-headquartered ACO Group, manufactures the established ACO Maripur and ACO Clarimar wastewater treatment solutions, along with the ACO Lipator and ACO Lipatomat ranges of grease separation systems.

Image Lines’ PR Manager, Maritime, Offshore & Energy, Patrik Wheater, said: “IMO Resolution MEPC 227/64, which enters into force in January 2016, will have a major bearing on ship operators, since the new guidelines revise current effluent standards and performance test protocols for onboard sewage treatment plants.

“ACO Marine can advise shipowners on the optimum solutions available to safeguard against non-compliance. Technical experts will be on hand at the ACO Marine stand at SMM, in Hamburg, next month to guide shipowners on how best to meet the new rules.”

SMM is running from 9-12 September 2014 and the ACO Marine stand is in exhibition Hall A1, Stand 405.
