NORDANA Project and Chartering (NPC) and Rickmers (Japan) Inc. are pleased to announce jointly that Rickmers (Japan) Inc. was nominated as sole General Agent of NORDANA Project and Chartering in Japan effective from 15 June 2015.
NORDANA‘s name is taken from its NORwegian and DANish background. The company started business in 1957 and its Asian Head Office is located in Thailand. Nordana is part of the Weco Group which consists of amongst others tankers (StenaWeco), ro-ro’s, a bulk division and multipurpose tweendeckers. Weco Group operates more than 90 vessels and is a privately owned company.
NORDANA owns and operates a modern fleet of more than 25 Breakbulk and Heavy Lift Multipurpose tweendeck vessels with an average age of four years, each with two cranes combinable up to 300 mtons lifts, serving on a tramper basis worldwide. The fleet also includes Thailand flag vessels.
Additionally, NORDANA is in the midst of a new building programme with ten more Multipurpose vessels, including four Heavy Lift vessels each with two cranes combinable up to 500 mtons to be delivered from August 2015.
By nominating a new General Agent in Japan, NORDANA is focussing on the Project and Breakbulk market in Japan jointly with Rickmers (Japan) Inc. and looking forward to serving their customers jointly on a more global basis including the Asia, India, Middle East and African markets in addition to Rickmers Japan’s major markets of North/South Americas and Europe to/from Japan.
