GAC 01072014Port Transport Safety Dues at Russian Black Sea ports

From 1 July, 2015 Port Safety Transprort Safety Dues will be applied at the Russia Black Sea ports of Novorossiysk, Gelendzhik, Anapa, Kavkaz, Temruk and Taman.

The rates for all types of vessels are as follows:

Tankers

– Rate: 0.43 RUR

– Formula: 043 x Reduced GT x 2

Cont/Ro Ro

– Rate: 0.28 RUR

– Formula: 028 x GT x 2

Dry/Bulk/General

– Rate: 0.39 RUR

– Formula: 039 x GT x 2

Houston Area Ship Channel Update

Tropical Storm Bill has been downgraded to a tropical depression located North of Austin. Heavy squalls continue throughout the area.

The US Coast Guard advises that all ports in the Houston Sector have now resumed Port Condition 5, normal operations. However, ship movements will only resume after offshore weather conditions improve.

Agents are advised that if any ships are in dire need of bunkers, they should contact USCG VTS for priority arrangements.

USCBP Houston Seaport granted blanket extensions of clearance until normal operations resume.

Ships’ eNOA/D notifications should be kept updated.

Yacht races between Hong Kong and Macau

Yacht races between Hong Kong and Macau will take place on 20 June 2015 (Saturday) and 21 June 2015 (Sunday). About 25 sailing boats are expected to participate in the races.

The outbound trip from Hong Kong to Macau will start at 1000 hours on 20 June 2015 in anarea south-east of Lamma Island (in the vicinity of Yen Kok Light). Depending on the weather conditions, it will follow:

(a) Course 1 – a westerly route through south of Lamma Island, south of Tai A Chau, thence to Macau if the wind is coming from the north;

OR

(b) Course 2 – a south-westerly route through the southern boundary of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, thence to Macau if the wind is coming from the south.

The return trip from Macua to Hong Kong will start at 1100 hours on 21 June and will follow:

(a) Course 1 – a route through south of Tai A Chau and to complete the race at a position east of Cheung Chan if the wind is coming form the north;

OR

(b) Course 2 – a route through south of Xiaozhi Zhou and to complete the race at a position east of Cheung Chau if the wind is coming from the south.

Master, coxswains and persons-in-charge of vessels navugating in the vicinity of the race routes should proceed with caution, giving practial consideration to the contestants. Compliance with the provisions of the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea 1972 is mandatory.

Tanker grounded in the Bosphorus

A 275m tanker has run aground at the Bosphorus anchorage while proceeding for operations during her southbound transit.

Tugs were employed by coastal safety for assistance after the grounding.
