GAC 01072014Crew changes discouraged due to limited hotel availability

There will not be hotel rooms available in the Philadelphia area during the period of 20th to 30th September 2015, as Pope Francis will be visiting the area.

This could create some issues with crew travel, so all concerned is advised to keep close watch on vessels ETB and ETD to avoid any problems. It is strongly recommended that crew changes be avoided during this time period.

Also, road travel will be obstructed due to some major highways and bridges getting closed or down sized travel lanes.

Underwater sea measurement south of Pulau Bukom Kechil
August 21, 2015, Singapore, Singapore

From 24 August to 11 September, underwater sea measurement will be carried out south of Pulau Bukom Kechil, within the working area bounded by the following co-ordinates:

1) 01 deg. 13.378’N / 103 deg. 45.566’E

2) 01 deg. 13.378’N / 103 deg. 45.802’E

3) 01 deg. 13.266’N / 103 deg. 45.802’E

4) 01 deg. 13.266’N / 103 deg. 45.566’E

Working Hours: 0900 – 1930 daily excluding Sundays.

The monitoring of the underwater sea

measurement will be carried out from work boats.

A safety boat will be deployed in the vicinity of the working area to warn

other craft of the project.

UN Security Council sanctions against Cote D’Ivoire

The shipping community is advised to comply with the latest United Nations Security Council Resolutions (UNSCRs) 2219 (2015) which imposed sanctions on Cote D’Ivoire.

Attention is drawn specially to paragraph 1 of the UNSCR 2153 (2014) which is reproduced below:

QUOTE…

1. Decides, for a period ending on 30 April 2016, that all States shall take the necessary measures to prevent the direct or indirect supply, sale or transfer to Côte D’Ivoire, from their territories or by their nationals, or using their flag vessels or aircraft, of arms and any related lethal materiel, whether or not originating in their territories;

…UNQUOTE

Any Singapore registered ship which contravenes the sanctions is liable to have its registration cancelled.

Temporary diversion of the Tung Chung Buoyed Channel
August 21, 2015, Hong Kong, Hong Kong

With effect from 23 August to 29 September 2015, a section of the Tung Chung Buoyed Channel will be temporarily diverted eastwards.

The affected section is located between the pairs of buoys TC1 and TC2; TC5 and TC6. The diversion will occur during the following specified periods:

Sundays, from 2000 to 0730 hours on Mondays

Mondays, from 2000 to 0730 hours on Tuesdays

Fridays, from 2000 to 0730 hours on Saturdays

The diverted channel is bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum), with the name of temporary light marks shown in the right column:

(A) 22° 18.899’N / 113° 57.854’E (DTC 1)

(B) 22° 18.854’N / 113° 57.971’E (DTC 2)

IRS Auditors resume national strike in Brazil

IRS Auditors of Brazil have resumed the strike indefinitely. The national syndicate of the IRS auditors of Brazil had decided that only activities considered to be ‘‘essential’’ will be operational. During this indefinite time rectification petition, customs transit declarations and releases may face delays.
