My 2015 in Numbers
2015 has been an extremely busy year for me. And a very important one.Â
This year I have taken portraits of 268 people,  for both my artistic projects and the commissioned work.
I have exhibited my work 7 times. The shows included 1 solo-exhibition,  3 group showsand 3 large art fairs.  All of them together brought around 52.000 visitors.
My artwork found new homes in the United Kingdom, United States, Germany, Spain and South Africa.
I was very happy to exhibit in splendid, historical venues such as the Science Museum, the Royal College of Art or the Pallant House Gallery.
This year I managed to create my latest project ‘Let’s Talk About Sex’, which has received 2 Awards at the National Open Art Competition: for the Best Portrait and the Visitors Choice. It has been selected as a favourite work among over 4000 submissionsfrom the artwork across the UK.
I was also honoured to be nominated and then shortlisted for the Women of the Future Award in the Arts & Culture Category. I have been selected as top 5 women to watch in the art industry, which has been one of the most amazing experiences in my life.
2015 has been also a good year for LoVArts – London Visual Art, the non-for-profit networking and promotional platform for London based artists, which I have been running for 3 years. Together with my great team we managed to organise a couple of networking events for visual artists as well as continued working on the ‘Infinite London’ exhibition. I have met a number of fantastic partners and artists who are keen to make this project happen.
I would like to thank everyone who have supported me during my journey; it always means a lot to me. I already started working on a new project and can’t wait to show it to you in 2016.
I would like to wish you a wonderful New Year! I hope it’s going to be a great one!
All the best,
Aleksandra Karpowicz
