Underwater inspection off Tanah Merah and Changi East

The working period for underwater inspection work off Tana Merah and Changi East has been revised. The works are being conducted from 1 June to 31 July.According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.65 of 2016 dated 1 June, the works are being carried out between 0700 and 1900 hours daily – including Sundays & Public Holiday – within the working area bounded by the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum):Working Area A

12) 01 deg. 17.760’N / 104 deg. 01.504’EThe underwater inspection will be carried out by a remotely operated underwater vehicle (ROV) tethered to the survey boat. The ROV will be launched and recovered by the survey boat.

Craft involved in the works will exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) Keep well clear and not to enter the working area;
b) Maintain a proper lookout;
c) Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;
d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 12 (East Control);
e) Communicate with East Control on VHF Channel 12 for assistance, if required.

Suspension of second draft restriction

The amount of rainfall in the Canal watershed has received in the past week has made it possible to suspend the second draft restriction that was announced in Advisory to Shipping A-14-2016 and in effect since April 29, 2016.Therefore, the maximum authorized transit draft for vessels transiting the Panamax locks will be increased to 11.89 m (39.0 feet) Tropical Fresh Water (TFW), effective immediately and until further notice.The ACP will continue to monitor the Gatun Lake level in order to adjust for draft restrictions, and will announce changes in a timely manner.(For information about operations in the Panama Canal, contact GAC-Wilford & MacKay at gac-wilfordmackay.panama@gac.com)Source: Panama Canal Authority (ACP) Advisory to Shipping No. A-29-2016 dated May 31, 2016

Abu Dhabi ports working hours during Ramadan

Abu Dhabi working hours during Ramadan are as follows:IFTAR & SUHOOR BREAK
– Iftar: 18.30-21.30 hours
– Suhoor 03.30-04.30 hours
All port operations will cease.
Vessels’ berthing and unberthing will continue.ZAYED & MUSAFFAH PORT
Documentation Department: 08.00-18.00 hours (17.00 hours Saturday)
Vessel Operation: 07.00-13.00 hours (Normal Shift) / 13.00-07.00 (Overtime)
Delivery & Yard: 24 hours (Normal Shift except Iftar and Suhoor break)
Cold Store: 07.00-13.00 (Normal Shift) / 13.00-17.00 (Overtime)FREE PORTS
Port operation & Documentation Center: 24 hours on duty (Iftar break 18.30-19.30 hours)MARINE SERVICES
All Abu Dhabi ports: Marine Services will be charged at 1.5 times during (Iftar and Suhoor)KHALIFA PORT (Non-Container business)
Documentation-Roro/CFS: 08.00-15.00 hours (Saturday to Thursday)
General Cargo & RORO Terminal: 07.00-13.00 hours (Normal Shift) / 13.00-07.00 (Overtime)
CFS Operation: 07.00-13.00 (Normal Shift) / 13.00-17.00 (Overtime)

All services provided during overtime hours and holidays will be charges in accordance with overtime rates as listed in the Port Tariff.
