ShippingInsightNORFOLK, Va. – Aug. 8, 2016 – (Marine NewsWire) Booth spaces in the exhibit hall for the fifth SHIPPINGInsight Fleet Optimization Conference & Exhibition are 75 percent taken. The annual maritime technology event will take place Oct. 18-19 at the Stamford Marriott Hotel & Spa in Stamford, Conn.

“We are expanding our exhibit hall by 30 percent this year to accommodate the surge in requests,” said SHIPPINGInsight co-director Frank Soccoli. “There’s still time to reserve a booth, but you’ll have to act fast, since we expect a complete sell-out of space in the next few weeks.”

Soccoli added that there are still a few sponsorship opportunities available as well. “We have a total of 40 industry sponsors already signed up, plus eight media sponsors and five supporting organizations.”

A feature of the SHIPPINGInsight format is the large number of networking opportunities, bringing together shipping professionals from all facets of the industry to engage with each other in formal and informal settings. To date, executives from more than 35 major international shipping companies have committed to participate.

“We will have 11 specific networking events totaling 15 hours on the agenda this year,” said conference co-director Jim Rhodes. “Importantly, most networking events take place in the exhibit hall, and we’ve organized the booths to give maximum exposure to exhibitors and provide ample opportunities to meet and mingle with delegates.”

Keynote speakers for the two-day conference are John D. Noonan, CEO of Chembulk Tankers, Capt. Norbert Aschmann, CEO of Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement, James Watson, president of ABS Americas Division, Esa Jokioinen, head of Blue Ocean Team at Rolls-Royce, Frank Coles, CEO of Transas Marine, Angus Campbell, managing director of Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement (U.K.), William Gallagher, president of International Registries, Inc., and Peter Keller, executive vice president, Tote, Inc. More than 50 speakers are confirmed.
