We are pleased to inform you that the new edition of the North Sea Oil and Gas Activity Map is available from our stand at ONS. The latest edition of the North Sea Oil and Gas Activity Map covers 643 offshore oil fields and 691 offshore gas fields, as well as pipelines, blocks and operators. Offshore production commenced in NW Europe almost 50 years ago, and though still a major source of oil and gas, it is very much a mature producing region.
Nevertheless, the area still holds major potential, as shown by Statoil’s Johan Sverdrup development, which is set to eventually produce at a rate of 530,000 bpd. The North Sea is also a key area of subsea innovation and accounts for 31% of active subsea trees globally. The map also includes a ranking of the top operators (by offshore field number) in the region, the top five being: Statoil, Total, Engie, Shell and BASF.
