Joseph Hughes, Chairman of the North American Marine Environment Protection Association (NAMEPA), announces the following recipients of NAMEPA’s 2016 Marine Environment Protection Awards:

Nicky Pappadakis – Lifetime Achievement Award

Congresswoman Helen Delich Bentley – Posthumous Lifetime Achievemen Award

Jack Buono – Individual Award

Harley Marine Services – Corporate Award

Wells Fargo – Corporate Governance in Shipping Award

North America Ministry Association (NAMMA) – Seafarers Foundation Award

The awards will be presented at NAMEPA’s Awards Dinner to be held onOctober 27th at Pier A in New York City.
The dinner caps the afternoon North American World Maritime Day conference featuring Rear Admiral Linda Fagan of the U. S. Coast Guard. Other invited speakers include Dr. Sandra Whitehouse of Ocean Conservancy, Jan-Willem van den Dijssel of Cargill, the recently retired Jack Buono of SeaRiver Maritime, INTERCARGO’s Chairman Emeritus Nicky Pappadakis, and Michael Webber of Wells Fargo.
