The BDI (Baltic Dry Index) was up 46 points earlier on today standing at 915 thanks to the asymmetrical upwards “trend” of the Capers; Geopolitics also brings-in asymmetrical projections. John Faraclas’ daily recap:

At 2,218 points the Capers’ BCI 2014 – up 206 since yesterday “makes waves”, but that is not enough given the overall gloomy picture of all markets and their projection. I guess in this oval, and not cycle which in reality is dubious, all stakeholders are holding their breath. Volatility never pays-off! Remember: One size’s improvement doesn’t constitute a healthy market!

The Panamaxes’ BPI gained just five points and now reads 704…

The Supras and the Handies were down two points with the respective BSI and BHSI reading 678 and 413; caution…

The Wets down too; the last published BDTI (Dirties) and BCTI (Cleans) lost three and one point respectively.

The price of WTI surpassed the US$ 50 mark now at US$ 50.58 and the game now begins.

The Box-ships being the big question!

LNG’s a ray of hope but we need to see a total energy change… Will that happen?

It’s an “all change” in the entire shipping industry; it is about time to see this cataclysmic change taking place that only Shakespeare’s Tempest can match it!

The Geopolitical front is about to burst with incalculable repercurssions for all:

The MIGRANTS issue getting worse. The Syrian saga produces hell!

BREXIT and the Pound Sterling amid mixed signals.

Greece in tatters. Ultra-caution is advised

Turkey pushing its luck.

Bad weather in the South/East USA a big issue… Equally the race for the White House gets nasty…

Russia raises the stakes in the Pacific; its airforce on a different mission…

Corruption haunts ex Brazilian president Lula…

*With all due respect, but per the old Greek saying: “Silk underwear are only for capable bums”…

All the main Shipping Markets and Geopolitical issues will be analysed in full tomorrow; watch this space!
