Now this event really took us all by surprise as it was a sold out long before it was even …announced.  Yesterday at lunch time just off King’s Cross Station, overlooking the Regent’s canal at the Greek Larder – one more successful food and drinks Greek story in London, just over 125 HESGB members, friends and their families gathered for the first ever major Christmas Lunch event! Anny J. Zade writes:

The HESGB (Hellenic Engineers Society of Great Britain) is re-known over the last two decades for its successful events – particularly the Annual Dinner and Dance, the summer BBQ at the Trailfinders Sport Club in West Ealing’s Castle Bar, the Taverna Lunch, as well as the free-spirit unwind-style business networking drinks and dips gatherings in unique pubs, restaurants near the banks of Father Thames and this event was no exception for the perfect environment in London’s inland waterways supporting also of Greece’s cuisine and plethora of Greek wines and spirits – mastiha too!

It was good to see many friends from the past, particularly Patty Apostolopoulou – the never-I-sleep lady, now back from the Far East – Busan, South Korea, as well as the Hirdaris’; Spyros, his wife Demetra and daughter Eugenia all back also from Busan in South Korea!

The food was excellent, meticulous prepared for the occasion; the drinks too and as said above the mastiha liquor raised the spirits before Santa Clause makes his real coming… In this jovial and pre-Christmas atmosphere, nothing goes wrong!

Theodore Kyriakou, his partner and team produced the best and hope to have the chance when the weather gets warmer to enjoy the outside area in the surroundings of the Arthouse for many more events to come. Most of you have already experienced the London Greek Wine Festival nearly a month ago at the West Handyside Canopy.
