Revised tariff effective from January

DP World has revised their tariff for Jebel Ali and Mina Rashid effective 1 January 2017.The Tanker tariff will rise from AED2/- to AED2.02/-.For Dry Cargo, port dues are revised from AED 0.20 to AED 0.21 per GRT only for any period not exceeding 3 days of the vessel stay at port. After 3 days for each day or part thereof, AED 0.11 per GRT.The full revised tariff may be downloaded from the DP World website at www.dpworld.ae

Safety and vigilance during festive seasons

The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore has issued a reminder to the shipping and port community on the importance of exercising extra caution, navigational prudence and best practices during festive seasons.Festive seasons are a time where there is an increase of traffic and passenger ridership in the port of Singapore.The shipping and port community are encouraged to observe the following;
a) Exercise caution and due diligence when operating at sea;
b) Observe safe navigation practices;
c) Conduct risk assessment prior to commencement of activities. Don appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (i.e. safety helmets, goggles, gloves, shoes, harnesses, etc) where applicable;
d) Place emphasis on donning of lifejackets when working near or over the ship side and when transferring between vessels;
e) Strict adherence to company’s and/or shipboard drug and alcohol policies;
f) Strict adherence to Singapore Port Regulations and the International Regulation for the Prevention of Collision at Sea (COLREGS).For information about operations in Singapore contact GAC Singapore at singapore@gac.com
