Anna Cannavacciuolo, Marina Manager at Marina d’Arechi, yesterday became the very first person to be awarded a diploma qualifying her as Port Director by the prestigious RINA Services.
This certification was awarded following a multidisciplinary course and examination on the basis of the requirements laid out by the RINA guidelines regarding the role of MARINA MANAGER.
RINA was founded in Genova in 1861, and it is the third oldest naval classification register in the world. In recent years, thanks to its long years of experience and its traditional presence in the world of commercial shipping, it has expanded its functions in the field of certifications, conformity verification, inspections and testing in order to provide strategic support to public and private organisations wishing to reach the highest levels of quality, efficiency, security and sustainability.
It is in this very context that the MARINA MANAGER training programme was devised and launched, and following success in the examinations RINA provides a certificate qualifying the candidate as Port Director.
Anna Cannavacciuolo notes: “We at Marina d’Arechi have always believed excellent quality – in terms of infrastructure, all components of our team, and the services offered to our clients – to be the central element upon which to construct a long term management strategy. We have worked together continuously to create actions and initiatives to ensure consistently high standards at Marina d’Arechi, in line with our certification as a “5 star” Marina in RINA’s rating system and with our blue flag status. I wished, however, to take on the challenge on a more personal level; therefore, I put myself out there in the name of continuous improvement.
Some years ago, I had successfully completed the “Advanced Marina Management” course offered by the British Marine Federation, so I decided to take the opportunity offered by RINA to carry on my studies and to obtain further professional certification via the MARINA MANAGER programme. I am delighted to be the first person awarded with the title of Port Director and this success provides further impetus for me to do even more and even better at Marina D’Arechi”.
