New mooring, moving & unmooring charges

North Queensland Shipping Services (NQ Shipping Services Pty Ltd) have announced new schedules of charges for mooring, moving and unmooring at the ports of Cairns and Mourilyan, effective from 1 July 2017 through to 30 June 2018.

Extra staff: As deemed necessary due to vessel’s size or mooring berth, dolphin usage dictated by cargo or bunker configuration, Pilot or Masters instructions etc. will be recovered at cost.

Detention charges / other services / baggage handling: Any additional operations or operations exceeding the 2 or 3 hour minimum will be recovered at a rate of $52.00 per man in 1/2 hour increments.

Cancellation charges: (Less than 2 hours’ notice to POB) shall be 75% of the appropriate charge.

Four-day public holiday

All official institutions and banks in Turkey will be closed from Saturday 24 to Tuesday 27 June, inclusive, due to a four-day public holiday. Ship owners and operators are urged to ensure that any arrangements for crew, spares, provisions, etc and made in good time ahead of the holiday to facilitate timely delivery.

They should also check in advice of calling at Turkish ports, as some may be closed during this period and/or charges for official services (pilotage, towage, mooring, customs) be increased by 50% (pilotage, towage, mooring, customs).
