The Capers and Panamaxes are losing steam; last week’s euphoria with triple and considerable triple and double digit plus mode seems to evaporate – let’s hope NOT as another major downturn wouldn’t be easily digested…
The BCI gained 18 points and now stands at 1,655 and the BPI was up five at 1,158…
The Supras and Handies continued to fall – thank God only a few points but even though the loses are minimal they are causing problems; BSI down two at 762 and BHSI down three at 475 points respectively.
The Wets also on a downwards mode; the last published BDTI (Dirties) and BCTI (Cleans) stood at 619 – minus nine and 556 – the same as per last Friday’s closure…
The Box trade still tries to get its momentum and we insist for CAUTION. Things are NOT as per what some major group believe. Expect another upheaval soon!
The WTI maintained an affordable level at US$ 49.27…
The Dow Jones Industrial Average continued to rise to new record highs… At 22,118 aims higher, but be cool…

The MIGRANTS issue, the number one issue all over Planet Ocean, take some unacceptable twists and turns; Germany will return to Greece MIGRANTS, can you imagine how pathetic the Germans can be… In a totally devastated Greece and Greek Islands overcrowded by the unethical Turkish policy to send more and more MIGRANTS to Greece …thanks to the blackmail of the Turks, the Greek German cronies will allow the return of MIGRANTS back under a dubious proviso… SHAME! Time to smash also the ring of traffickers!
Overnight we had more arrivals to the Greek Islands of Chios and the adjacent Innousses Islets of Migrants from the Turkish Anatolian coast in …the context of rescue operations with 54 in an inflatable dinghy off Inousses, thanks to the Greek Coast Guard. Later on 74 MIGRANTS were rescued by another Greek Coast Guard vessel off the touristic area of St. Hermione. All in all 456 MIGRANTS crossed over to the Greek Islands of the North Aegean during the first week of August; to Lesvos 99, to Chios 130 and Samos 277. SHAME. Time to smash the ring of traffickers as mentioned in the paragraph above!
The Wars in Syria and Iraq continue against ISIS and others, but Carla del Ponte, a former war crimes prosecutor …discontinues her presence; she simply quitted the UN commission investigating human rights abuses as the commission did absolutely nothing; so what the experts have to say… Five years went by in Syria and nothing happened.
Turkey continued …in full gear the violation of Greece’s air space over the weekend and today – two dog-fightings and dozens of intrusions. The day will come though when the shit will hit the fan and, above all, Turkey’s backers will face hell from Turkey… just wait and see. Don’t ask what happens in the Turkish interior vis-à-vis the court cases and behaviour against Erdogan’s enemies following last year’s orheatrated “military coup”… Add the planned military exercise with Qatar and see for yourself how the Turks are day by day subjecting Peace in the region. There wouldn’t be any excuse for all members of the Security Council given this despicable Turkish behaviour… CAUTION…
Greece next door still in a mess, particularly financially and ideologically… On the Economy / Financial front Greece’s GDP shrunk by 26 centum since 2010… That is US$ 72.66 billion, any objection? The ousting of all MPs in Greece’s Parliament is a must.- They participate in a continuous crime against humanity; the ruling coalition has to face special music… The results are far worse than those you thought even in your wildest dreams… Meantime fraudsters, local and foreign, go Scot-free… Ah! …and hands-off the Greek educational system… Ultra-CAUTION! Question: Can George Kaminis, currently Athens’ Mayor become Greece’s next Prime Minister leading a mild but effective so to speak centre-left government?

BREXIT, the catch word for all future global surprises, continues with the main issue being that the UK has to continue its contributions to EU until 2020… And what if there is a “revolt” and the Government says: enough, hard BREXIT bye bye see you in Court… The European Union might have and hold all the cards but what if same are useless – no money from Britain, EU citizens status in limbo with an indefinite status of stay and no problem with the Irish border, eh? Ireland will always depend from the United Kingdom in any sense you can think of as both sides have vested interests far beyond the Continentals’ imagination and even actual needs…
A bit of a mess in Sicily with the “…wild fires”; a beyond -under duress situation… so who can counter to the firefighters’ being accused of deliberately starting fires to get paid after putting them off… Scandalous or mafioso behaviour…
At the other side of the Atlantic the Americans through the US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, warned Russians on the building up of a mistrust spoiling their relations due to Moscow’s US presidential election interference, which I guess Sergei Lavrov will contemplate and appropriately respond in his usual way… Watch this space…
China “finally” asked North Korea to behave… Can we trust the Chinese on this gesture after their participation in two wars against the Americans so far: Korean War and Vietnam War…?? Seriousness is a must here! North Korea and China know well how to play around, but… It sounds more than provocative that North Koreans maintain that they will respond via a kind of retaliation to the USA’s sanctions…
Japan as said last Friday is closely watching all developments…
In Africa the Kenyan elections looks set for Kenyatta who asked for calm and for the people to turn out en mass and vote!
