Fender repair & replacement works for typhoon shelter dophins

For approximately 4 months, fender repairing and replacement works for seven dolphins will be carried out in the New Yau Ma Tei Typhoon Shelter.

The works will be carried out by one crane boat. One work boat will provide assistance.

A working area of approximately 15 metres around the crane boat will be established. Yellow marker buoys fitted with yellow flashing lights will be laid to mark the positions of the anchors extending from the crane boat.

The hours of work will be from 0700 to 1900 hours. No works will be carried out on Sundays and public holidays. The boats engaged in the works will stay close to a dolphin outside the hours of work.

Diving operations will be carried out from time to time during the hours of work.

The boats engaged in the works will display signals as prescribed in international and local regulations.

Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution and keep clear of the working area at slow speed, bearing in mind there are divers working in the area.

Marine works at Tai Kwai Wan, Cheung Chau & Ha So Pai, Lantau Island

For approximately 6 months, marine works involving removal of temporary jetty and hydrographic survey will be carried out in the following areas:

WORKS AREA 1:
This area is bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (A) to (D) and the adjacent shoreline:
(A) 22 deg. 12.877’N / 114 deg. 01.508’E
(B) 22 deg. 12.967’N / 114 deg. 01.427’E
(C) 22 deg. 13.049’N / 114 deg. 01.501’E
(D) 22 deg. 12.973’N / 114 deg. 01.569’E

WORKS AREA 2:
This area is bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (E) to (H) and the adjacent shoreline:
(E) 22 deg. 13.562’N / 114 deg. 01.052’E
(F) 22 deg. 13.537’N / 114 deg. 01.082’E
(G) 22 deg. 13.499’N / 114 deg. 01.037’E
(H) 22 deg. 13.532’N / 114 deg. 01.013’E

The works will be carried out by one derrick lighter. One work boat and two tugboats will provide assistance. The number of vessels engaged in the works will change from time to time to suit operational requirements.

Diving operation will be carried out from time to time during the hours of work.

A working area of approximately 25 metres will be established around the derrick lighter. Yellow marker buoys fitted with yellow flashing lights will be laid to mark the positions of the anchors extending from the derrick lighter.

The hours of work will be from 0700 hours to 1900 hours. No works will be carried out on Sundays and public holidays. Vessels employed for the works will not stay in the works areas outside the hours of work.

Vessels engaged in the operations will display signals as prescribed in international and local regulations.

Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution and keep clear of the works areas at slow speed, bearing in mind there are divers working in the areas.

Traffic suspension for Kite Fest

Traffic in the Bosphorus will be suspended on from 10:30 to 15:00 hours tomorrow (12 August), due to Kite Fest.
