|According to Port of Fujairah’s Notice to Mariners (NTM) No. 231, ships undergoing ship-to-ship oil cargo operations are required to pass a safety inspection conducted by Port Authority to confirm the vessels are in a good condition before operations can be carried out.

|Temporary arrangement of the Tung Chung buoyed channel|

|For approximately 6 months, the width of the buoyed channel between the pairs of buoys TC1 and TC2; TC5 and TC6 will be reduced to about 48 metres for carrying out the main span segments installation works.
An alternative channel, which is bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum), with the names of temporary light marks shown in the right column, will be provided:
(A) 22º 18.899’N / 113º 57.854’E (DTC 1)
(B) 22º 18.854’N / 113º 57.971’E (DTC 2)
(C) 22º 18.460’N / 113º 57.776’E (DTC 4)
(D) 22º 18.258’N / 113º 57.331’E
(E) 22º 18.367’N / 113º 57.283’E
(F) 22º 18.496’N / 113º 57.716’E (DTC 3)
Details of the temporary light marks marking the alternative channel are as follows:
Light characteristics: Q. G
Top mark: Single green cone
Light characteristics: Q. R
Top mark: Single red can
Light characteristics: VQ. G
Light characteristics: VQ. R
The alternative channel with width and depth of about 100 metres and 2.5 metres (Chart Datum) respectively permits vessels with airdraft of not exceeding 18.8 metres to pass through.
The installation works will be carried out by two delivery barges and three flat top barges at the Tung Chung buoyed channel. Guard boats will be stationed at the turning points of the alternative channel to give necessary guidance to the vessels using this channel. Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution and follow the guidance given by the guard boats on scene.
