Grammenos’ Cass 4th Athens Triennial Meeting powerful finale

Eleftherios Veniamis MSc STF 2000 of Golden Union delivering his paper; to his right the panel of session one on the Dry Markets

Further to our yesterday’s brief note on the first day of this unique event, herewith is another note of the second day’s deliberations earlier on today; Iris Liaskonis was there with her camera and reports:

Five sessions, the one more interesting than the other occupied the delegates and engaged the speakers to many interesting questions, not only during the conference but from what we overheard during the evening reception! A full house, given also that it is a Saturday, proved the success of this triennial meeting!

No need for introductions; Prof. Martin Stopford

The Dry Markets, the Tanker Market, our favourite wets – both of which you read every working day in this site; two shipping Finance sessions with the Banks and Credit Agencies from the one side and the Capital Markets and Private Equity at the… antipode, issues which we continuously cover; the Industry, Tourism and Capital Markets in Greece ending this two-day meeting.

From the Shipfinace I session

As in all Professor Grammenos’ international meetings the majority – 90 centum of the speakers are Greek graduates and very well placed in international entities, most of which are world acclaimed enterprises! Very pleased to see quite a substantial number from other nations around Planet Ocean enriching this event too! Sadan Kaptanoglou, Nicolaus Bunnemann, Asaf Malamud, Laurent Bozzoni, Modi Mano, Nicolaus Oldendorff, Niklas Bedranowski, Peter Garmefelt, Christoph Toepfer, Axel Aas, Nakakjeet, Singh Bajwa, Erik Helberg, Sinjay K. Mehta amongst them.

Given the terrible state of the Global Economy – the worse ever experienced, as well as the Geopolitical chaos we live in, this event was more than timely, as we witness the tenth year of this crisis and as, according to our predictions the crisis will continue we will await the forthcoming “happenings” in shipping, shipfinace and all the other issues debated and value its contribution.

As said yesterday we will revert with a full round-up and conversely write-up of this meeting.

With room bursting to its sims the reception was extended outside to the corridor…

For me as a young writer and having a family background in technical and technological aspects of shipping this event was more than essential and important; food for though!
