The United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) is conducting mat sinking operations near the HPL Bridge at MM105.8, AHOP. There will be intermittent closures of the main navigation span of the HPL Bridge.

During the closures, all vessels must use the alternate navigation span. Additionally, all vessels will be restricted to one-way transit of the bridge.

The alternate navigation span has a vertical clearance of 144.0 feet less the Carrollton Gauge.

As of 0600 yesterday (27 November), the Carrollton Gauge read 5.36 feet. Therefore, the vertical clearance of the alternate span is 144.0 – 5.36 + 138.64 feet or 42.25 meters.

Effective dates and times of closures: November 27-28 from 0600 to 1900 hours local time.
