John Faraclas

The BDI (Baltic Dry Index) gained 25 points earlier on today surpassing the 1,300-point mark; the Geopolitics deteriorate more than ever before. John Faraclas’ brief market recap:

The good thing is that both the BDI and BCI went over and above the 1,300 and 2,000 points respectively, the Capers’ though rise was very much reduced; only 94 points were added versus the 247 gained last Friday, the 266 last Thursday and the 250 last Wednesday with the BCI now standing at 2,009 points! We shall see tomorrow being a day of “reckoning”… as many fear… Remain cool is our advice; it pays off!

The Panamaxes’ BPI continued the fall; eight points were lost and now at 1,281 causes a bit of a concern…

The Supras gained just to points and the BSI now reads 1,207 – every little bit counts…

No change for the Handies’ BHSI remaining at 621 points…

So once again we have basically just one size making …advances but again this doesn’t constitutes a Market!

The Wets with minimal changes; the last published BDTI (Dirties) and BCTI (Cleans) stood at 637 – no change and 558 – plus one point respectively!

The WTI went over and above the US$68.50 and feel tomorrow we might possibly the US$69 being achieved to the detriment of all, particular the 85-90 centum on Planet Ocean, the poor! Caution.

The Geopolitics continue to deteriorate with the MIGRANTS numbers increasing on a threefold basis… nearly 1,500 were off the North African Coast of Libya and about 400 in the Aegean… On the Greek Aegean Island of Lesvos, Migrants demonstrated and the locals witnessed one of the worse ever nights in the capital Mytilene… Its main square become a battle field between the Police and all Migrants who also had their wives and children in the middle; SHAME for these provocations as might cost many lives… No one from the authorities and in particular from the Ministry of Law and Order resigned as yet!

NAFTA also might be subjected with MIGRANTS trying to go from Mexico to the USA; president Trump is categorical with the Mexican insisting this is not a proviso on the NAFTA…

No end to the Syrian and Iraqi Wars with the entire Middle East in the worst possible state…

Turkey continues to upset one way or another every single nation it borders with…  Greece, Cyprus, Syria, Iraq and others are under the continuous threat of president Erdogan’s  megalomania…  The forthcoming snap election’s result begins to bother everybody within and outside Turkey… Turkey, technically is a bankrupt nation despite being in the G20 and  might see a complete split-up as in the case of former Yugoslavia… Iraq and Libya to name but a few recent cases…Watch this space…

Greece struggles to get investments and leave the poverty era… A snap election might be possible here too..

BREXIT continues its course with a showdown on the Customs Union issue… In the London Marathon, as we predicted both Eliud Kipchoge and Mo Farah did well. Another win for Kipchoege and a new British record for Farah who come third!!!

French President Macron must have had a very interesting meeting with USA’s president Trump given the body language on many occasions during their meeting; let’s Trumps tweets after Macron’s state visit! Mrs Merkel will also meet with president Trump…

Fast tuck change of guard in Armenia; let’s see what’s next there… Another fishing point in the eye of the storm in and around the Caucuses region…

Massacre with a car killing 10 and injuring 15  in Toronto Canada; awaiting the motive! Shame!

On another tone: many congratulations to The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge of the United Kingdom on the safe delivery of their baby, a brother for Prince George and Princess Charlotte who arrived today! Hopefully tomorrow we might have the name!

Otherwise things remain pretty much the same; will revert with more news tomorrow and in the meantime we urge you remain on alert from actions emanating from Pirates, Terrorists and others looming in the background wherever you are on Planet Ocean!
