Seafarers To Benefit From Innovative Catering Training Software – Launched by MCTC
As part of its dedication to providing catering crews with the best possible standard of training and management, Marine Catering Training Consultancy (MCTC) is delighted to announce the launch of its brand new Learning Management System (LMS).
The innovative LMS will enable marine catering crews to manage their own training and communications digitally, and access all their course materials under one platform.
The new system is now available to all MCTC’s clients who subscribe to the training company’s flagship package the Catering Competency Development Programme, which incorporates on board/ onshore training, distance coaching and mentoring programmes, vessel visits, evaluation, support and consultancy, and trade tests.
The first release of the LMS system includes the following features:
Storage and usage of course materials;
Conduction of assessments;
Review and correction of assessments;
Generation of certificates;
Community Forum;
Management of customers, contacts, vessels and students.
The LMS is a digital software application for the administration, documentation, tracking, reporting, and delivering of educational and training programmes. The software has been developed by MCTC, with assistance from a steering group made up of representatives from its clients.
Christian Ioannou, Managing Director of MCTC, said: “We put a high level of importance in the standard of training we offer to our clients’ catering crews. By introducing this piece of software, we are reducing the level of admin work that our Personal Culinary Training Consultants have to carry out. This enables them to concentrate on the training they provide.

The LMS also provides an email and chatting function where all communication relating to catering training can be accessed, and MCTC will introduce a community forum where trainees can discuss related topics and share best practices.
