Armada Engineering powers up for global growth

by admin

The Superyacht Aquila moored off Falmouth for testing. Designed and built at Pendennis Shipyard, Armada worked on its advanced hydraulics systems.

Hydraulics specialist Armada Engineering, which went through a management buyout late last year, is relaunching its services with a view to accelerating the growth of its worldwide customer base, as well as providing enhanced services to its many local clients.

From its base in Falmouth, where it has operated for nearly 30 years, Armada Engineering has established itself as one of the world’s foremost experts in hydraulic engineering. Over the last six months the company has strengthened its team and expanded its core range of services. The new-look Armada Engineering is being showcased in a new website which launched this week at www.armadaglobal.co.uk

At the same time, Armada has announced that they have secured official dealership status for leading brands John Deere, Yanmar and Shire.

Armada has some very prestigious names among its clients including Pendennis Shipyard, A&P, Rolls Royce, Fugro, LDD, Babcock Marine and BAE Systems. Taking on the toughest engineering challenges is at the heart of the company’s ethos, as Managing Director Joff Collins explains:

“Over the years, we have been involved in a number of ground-breaking projects, across sectors as diverse as superyachts, commercial shipping, marine renewables, oil & gas, and military vessels. The team we have built and the skills that they have acquired mean that we now pride ourselves on being able to solve virtually any engineering challenge – the tougher the better!

“Taking superyachts as just one example, we designed the hydraulic starting system for the world’s fastest superyacht, which is owned by the Aga Khan. There is huge potential for our business to expand its superyacht customer base across Europe and further afield. We have really only scratched the surface of what could be achieved. This new website is just one part of a major new push to get our message out to a global audience.”

Armada Engineering’s website incorporates an innovative facility called Hydraulics Doctor, where prospective customers can obtain free advice and problem-solving for any issues they may have encountered with hydraulic systems, as well as an extensive online shop.

The company will be hosting an Open Day on 29th September at its purpose-built facility at Bickland Industrial Estate, Falmouth. Visitors will be able to meet with its expert team, get up to speed on the very latest developments in hydraulic engineering, and see details on Armada’s current projects around the world. Interested customers should contact Emlyn Jones at emlyn.jones@armadamh.co.uk  to reserve their place.

Joff Collins adds: “The worldwide demand for quality engineering solutions continues to grow and diversify, creating new areas of opportunity for companies like ours. This is a very exciting time for our business.”
