Dirties, Capes and turmoil rule the day

The BDI (Baltic Dry Index) Was down two points at 726 but gained 15 points since last Friday- 5th of April, 15 (from 711). The Geopolitical turmoil continues on all fronts. John Faraclas’ daily and weekly recaps:

With the “exception” of the Panamaxes all the Dry Indices fell today and with the exception of the Capes all weekly indices fell too…

The Capes’ BCI lost five points and now reads 418; on a weekly basis though same was up 142 – from 276 points… What can you say about this paradoxical behaviour…?

The Panamaxes’ BPI clinched two points and now stands at 1,073 but on a weekly basis the BPI was down 41 points – from 1,114…

The Supras’ BSI lost four points and now reads 711 whilst on a weekly basis  the loss was 35 points – from 742…

Finally the Handies’ BHSI was down three point at 403 – very close in going under a crucial threshold and on a weekly basis the loss was 29 points – down from 432.

Still a grounded Capes’ Market with the exception of Panamaxes and as things stand we are going to witness more hiccups… We are 1,521 apart from the end of Dec 2013 when the BDI stood at 2,247 points. NEVER   FORGET   THIS!!!

The Wets with mixed feeling yet again; the last published BDTI (Dirties) and BCTI (Cleans) stood at 634 – plus 14 and 592 down four respectively. On a weekly basis the Dirties were up 16 points – from 618 and the Cleans were down 52 – from 644 respectively. CAUTION for both sizes.

The WTI as these lines are being written stands at US$ 64.27 which is US$ 1.19 higher since last week’s US$ 63.08. Ultra-CAUTION should be observed…

Chaotic situation in Bankrupt Geopolitics:

The MIGRANTS still maintain the top position… In Europe / East Med / and at the other side of the Atlantic the MIGRANTS will rock entire societies with social cohesion about to brake…

The faulty line from Gib to Afghanistan and from the Caucuses to the Horn of Africa including from the one end the two main flash-points East Med and Middle East and from the other the Balkans will produce further shocks and tsunamis. The confrontation is inevitable and it will definitely happen any time…

Europe alike the rest of the Planet Ocean remains in financial turmoil with BREXIT exposing deep divisions… The European dream with the way Brussels run the show might end abruptly… There are multiple of reasons and it’s a good chance to oust all these MEPs in the forthcoming elections who only think of their seat and NOT for the 500 plus million Europeans.

BREXIT as of this coming Monday will once again be another focal point… Pragmatism is the name of the game and wonder if MPs understand this point… Meantime all await what will happen to Julian Assange the Wikileaks co-founder…

Turkey’s ruling party manipulates not just results but “democratically” elected people. An example is the latest municipal elections… Meantime Turkish foreign policy with its nasty behaviour for all of Turkey’s neighbours and adjacent periphery becomes aggressive with despicable provocations… CAUTION! The Westerns strategists have spectacularly failed in the way the assessed and valued Turkey for over 67 years!!! Turkey and it neo-Ottomans wish to get rid off of the defeat in the first World War and coupled with religious policies too will create major havoc even to its current “allies”.

Next door Greece is in election fever – Municipal and Euro elections are going to be the preamble of a snap general election… Greece and Cyprus continue to be bullied by Turkey and let’s see here what will happen as there are also red lines…

Watch out on Monday the beginning of the “deliberations” in forming a government in Israel…

Russia keeps alive and workable president Putin’s agenda in all fronts. You can see this in Syria, Ukraine and other regions…

Next door now; firstly in Ukraine and following the fist round of the presidential elections, all are now focused on the forthcoming debate between the two,   Zelensky and Poroshenko. Remember comedy is the name of the game…  Secondly, in Finland  we don’t expect any party to make it above the 25 centum of the vote in this Sunday’s elections.  Some even say the winner won’t get 20 centum. We shall see. Another difficult coalition there..

Awaiting also the election result of nearly one billion people in India; this could be a turning point for the entire Subcontinent and its periphery!!

The energy issues and Americas’ (USA) shale oil and gas will make things even worse in the East Med to the Persian Gulf region…

In the Far East China continues to pursue its own policy and India with Pakistan will do their utmost best to survive. What will happen with Taiwan? What will be the outcome in South China Sea? The new Silk Road will cause explosions all over Planet Oceans… CAUTION.

Japan, as always watches carefully the whole situation…

In Africa now were Sudan becomes another flash point following an army “takeover”…

Still a chaotic situation in Venezuela… Wonder when the explosion will happen – AND it will happen!

On another note and tone WISTA-Argentina elected its new board; congrats to all ladies down there and all the very best!

Have a nice evening and weekend and continue to be on guard from actions emanating from Pirates, Terrorists, Criminals and Business Hooligans whatsoever wherever you are on Planet Ocean.
