London School of Shipping launches a range of professional development courses on key shipping topics

London, June 3, 2019. The London School of Shipping, part of the world-renowned Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers, announces the launch of a range of professional short courses in key shipping disciplines, held in its modern facilities close to London Bridge.

“We are delighted further enhance the support available to individuals and companies looking to further their knowledge and skills on vital aspects of today’s commercial shipping industry.” said Julie Lithgow, Director of the Institute.

“The ability to manage risk, develop careers and retain skilled employees is becoming increasingly important in today’s complex operating environment and we have a big role to play, not only in ensuring that people have the knowledge to do their jobs, but also by supporting professionalism in our sector with high-quality programmes that address the key challenges, are affordable and accessible.”

The courses include ‘Maritime World Explained’ an introductory one-day course perfect for new entrants to the industry or people whose work interfaces with shipping and need to gain a better understanding of the sector. Other programmes focus on legal, commercial and operational aspects designed to deliver an improved appreciation of the structures, documentation, risks and opportunities in the maritime industry.
