Port works update

Work is progressing at the port of Gilimas in Lembar, West Lombok, Indonesia. 89% of the 440m pier and 11% for the construction of Passenger Terminal have now been completed.

In the future, Gilimas Port will be able to accommodate more containers and receive more cruise ships.

Soil investigation work off Tuas Power Station

Soil investigation works will be carried out off Tuas Power Station from 24 June through to 24 December.

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.061 of 2019 dated 20 June 2019, the works will be conducted 24 hours daily – including Sundays & Public Holidays – at the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
MB-4.1) 01 deg. 16.733’N / 103 deg. 38.867’E
MB-4.2) 01 deg. 16.745’N / 103 deg. 38.921’E
MB-4.3) 01 deg. 16.772’N / 103 deg. 38.971’E
MB-5.1) 01 deg. 16.730’N / 103 deg. 38.566’E
MB-5.2) 01 deg. 16.723’N / 103 deg. 38.681’E

The soil investigation work will be carried out by means of marine drilling using a jack-up barge. Safety boats will be deployed in the vicinity of the working area to warn other vessels of the work.

Craft involved in the works will exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) Keep well clear of the working area;
b) Maintain a proper lookout;
c) Proceed at a safe speed and to navigate with caution;
d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 22 (Jurong Control);
e) Communicate with Jurong Control on VHF Channel 22 for assistance, if required.
