Trend Report for Late Summer 2019
by Elena Sendona
One of the main reasons why I adore trends is because they talk about ‘what’s next’. A counter argument would translate that sort of behavior as FOMO (Fear of Missing Out), yet I would explain my attitude towards change as excitement about the future.
As a fashion journalist I study the past of this industry because it helps me get a quicker understanding of recurring trends to be differentiated from real novelties. If you are ready to embrace the trends just make sure that what you are wearing expresses a continuity. For your next shopping adventure, fill in some gaps and refresh your choices with new cool things. Make a smart mix of heritage and avant-garde! Best example of that sort of eclecticism: the Gucci Pre-Fall 2019 Ad Campaign at the Archaeological Park of Selinunte in Sicily (picture to the right).
They are either plain monochromes or mixed with neons and the red of passion. Just shop for beige, taupe, tan, sand, ecru, creme, blush and nude hues.
